44th ANNUAL FIREFIGHTERS RECOGNITION DAY CEREMONIES

Set by law for the first Tuesday in February, Tuesday, February 2, 2016, will mark the 44th Annual Firefighters Recognition Day held at the State Capitol to recognize and pay tribute to our firefighting community. Below is an outline of the day’s schedule:
: State Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens will host a continental breakfast for firefighters. Local fire marshals will also be deputized during this time.

The Ceremonies will officially be called to order at 10:00 a.m. During the ceremonies Georgia state elected officials, including Governor Nathan Deal, will acknowledge and applaud contributions made by all fire service personnel in Georgia, and also recognize and present commendations to award recipients of the Georgia State Firefighters Association, Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs, and Georgia Fire Inspectors Association.
A luncheon sponsored by the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation will follow the Capitol ceremonies, and will be held at the Georgia State Student Center on Courtland Street. For further information on the luncheon contact the GFBF at 404-320-6223, or visit their website at www.gfbf.org
